Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to put Russia’s strategic nuclear forces on ‘combat duty’ has created panic in the world. After the start of the Cold War, the world assumed that there would be no nuclear war around the world because of the threat of ‘destroying each other’. Meanwhile, during the ongoing military operation in Ukraine, the announcement of the Russian President to alert nuclear forces is being taken very seriously in the world. That too when Russia has the largest number of nuclear warheads in the world at 6,400. Actually the exact number of nuclear warheads is a state secret and is therefore a matter of guesswork. The Joker in Putin’s hand are many, but we will mention only those two of them, which could destroy Nato within 2 minutes (in some cases within 20 seconds).

  1. 9M730 Burevestnik

The 9M730 Burevestnik (Russian: Буревестник; “Petrel”, NATO reporting name: SSC-X-9 Skyfall) is a Russian experimental nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed cruise missile under development for the Russian Armed Forces. The missile has an essentially unlimited range. The Burevestnik is one of the six new Russian strategic weapons unveiled by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1 March 2018. The cruise missile received the name Petrel (a bird species name that literally means “storm crier” or “stormbringer” in Russian) as a result of an open vote on the website of the Ministry of Defence of Russia. Burevestnik is a “sub-sonic nuclear-powered cruise missile system which has global reach and would allow attack from unexpected directions”. The missile should have “a near indefinite loiter time. Vladimir Putin stated that  this “weapon is to be perfected regardless of anything”.

Main Target of Burevestnik is (since Cold War)  the Yellowstone Caldera, or the Yellowstone Supervolcano in Yellowstone National Park in the Western United States. One hit is enough.

2. Poseidon (doomsday weapon)

The Poseidon (Russian: Посейдон, “Poseidon”, NATO reporting name Kanyon), previously known by Russian codename Status-6 (Russian: Статус-6), is an autonomous, nuclear-powered, and nuclear-armed unmanned underwater vehicle under development by Rubin Design Bureau, capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear payloads. The Poseidon is one of the six new Russian strategic weapons announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1 March 2018. On 2 February 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced completion of the key stage of trials of Poseidon. On 20 February 2019, the Russian Defence Ministry released a video, showing a Poseidon being test-launched by a B-90 Sarov special purpose submarine. The

United States is afraid of is not the name of the “Poseidon” nuclear torpedo, the sea king, but the great power of “Poseidon.” Capable of devastating a huge stretch of coastline with a multi-megaton (up to 100 Megaton, or 4 times Tsar Bomba) warhead, the Poseidon 2M39 torpedo would set off a chain of deadly radioactive tsunamis that would smash into towns and cities leaving them uninhabitable for decades. Military experts that two Poseidon could destroy the hole USA.

According to some reports, the Poseidon may also have a seabed or mobile site launch option. In the seabed option, known as Skif, Poseidon can wait on the seafloor in a special container for as long as necessary.

The Big Question is: How many Poseidons are ready for detonation now, and how many Burevestnik missiles are in the mesosphere (or above), sinnce both can do this for decades?!…
